Set up TolkLine before your first real meeting.

Install and open

1. Download the installer from your beta invitation email.
2. Move TolkLine to Applications if macOS asks.
3. Open TolkLine and allow the permissions requested for microphone and meeting audio capture.
4. Keep your regular microphone connected; TolkLine uses it as your source voice.

Set the meeting microphone

This is the step that lets other people hear translated speech.

1. Open Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, or another voice app.
2. In that app's audio settings, set the microphone to TolkLine Microphone.
3. Keep your speaker or headphones set to the device you normally use.
4. Say a short test phrase before the meeting starts.

Understand others

1. In TolkLine, choose the meeting app or browser tab you want to listen to.
2. Choose the language spoken in the meeting and the language you want to read.
3. Open bilingual captions and place the caption window where it does not cover the meeting.
4. If the detected language or terminology looks wrong, pause and adjust before continuing.

Speak back

1. Choose Live voice when you want to speak naturally and send translated voice automatically.
2. Choose Confirm when names, numbers, or technical terms need a quick check before sending.
3. Keep Safety review on when you want extra checks before generating voice.
4. You can also type a reply, review the translation, and send it as translated speech.
5. Stop translated voice before changing meeting apps or audio devices.

Send feedback

1. Tell us the meeting app, macOS version, language pair, and whether you used captions, translated voice, or both.
2. Share what worked, what failed, and whether latency felt acceptable.
3. Do not send confidential meeting content unless you are allowed to share it.
